This watercolor study continues my exploration of still water, moving toward a more defined wetland environment.
As part of my process of learning watercolor, I focused on how to build depth while introducing more structure into the composition. The shoreline, grasses, and shallow edges allowed me to explore the transition between land and water, and how these elements interact within a natural setting.
Compared to earlier studies, this piece begins to move beyond atmosphere into habitat, using simple forms to suggest a place where wildlife could exist. It serves as a bridge between foundational watercolor studies and more detailed environmental work.
